AI4Her – Inspiring Girls Through Artificial Intelligence And Creativity

What is AI4Her?

AI4Her is an initiative by Women in IT (WIT), Lebanon that seeks to narrow the gender gap in technology by introducing 15 to 17-year-old girls to Artificial Intelligence.

This one-day event at the American University of Beirut (AUB) brings together 150 students from public and private schools across Lebanon to explore Artificial Intelligence applications. The program includes 10 parallel workshops led by expert facilitators, supported by academic and private-sector partners, allowing students to learn, create, and share ideas. The event also features a dedicated session for 20 teachers introducing AI concepts and how AI can be used in education.

Why AI4Her Matters?

AI is transforming many fields including art, media, science, education, and environmental action, and tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, and Gemini are increasingly used by students, teachers, and professionals.

By September 2025, AI users reached about 900 million (11% of the global population). However, girls in Lebanon and the Arab region still face barriers to accessing AI education and understanding its creative potential. This reflects a wider global gap where 244 million more men than women use the internet, and in low-income countries 9 out of 10 adolescent girls and young women are offline compared to 7 out of 10 boys and young men.
